The Engagement

BRIDE'S STORY

I went to a party with a mutual friend. It ended up being Bob's birthday party (2/16/02). When I walked in he was sitting on a counter. He didn't really speak to me. He just sat there with a silly grin on his face. I wished him a happy birthday and asked him if he wanted to have a shot contest. I won.

A few months later on my birthday (5/27/02) I was working at a local resturant. He and a bunch of his friends came to see me. He was dressed up in nice slacks and a tie. He was very polite and shy (yes Bob was shy). Before they left he asked me if I would like to do something some time. I asked what he was doing that night. He said, "hanging out with you." So after I got off of work I went and spent some time with him. We sat at a gazabo on a lake that was near his apartment downtown. We talked till like five in the morning. We bonded over our love for Superdrag and the rest was history. We have been together since.

GROOM'S STORY

It was my 23rd birthday party and there I was hanging out with a bunch of good friends. At the time things were a bit boring... meaning that I hadn't met anyone of interest in a while. Aimee had been invited to this gathering by mutual friends and instantly lit up the room. I was quite smitten and in turn started to get nervous when trying to hold a conversation with her. We parted ways after a few moments of me being awkward and I remembered her all the time after that.

A few months later it was her birthday and unfortunately she had to work. I was called by a friend to see if I would like to go see her and say Happy Birthday. I jumped at the chance. I went and ate, had a drink and didn't really see her much that night, like I had said she was working. By the end of the night I had mustered up enough courage to ask her out. Without thinking about I blurted that she should come over to my apartment hang out. She suprisingly said yes. I got giddy and fell for her right away. She was the most gorgeous thing I'd have ever seen and the most gorgeous since. She is my life and my love. She is the greatest and she loves Superdrag. She is mine.

OUR STORY

On February 13, 2006. Bob took Aimee to the gazebo where they had had their first date. He got down on one knee. She of course said yes. A gaggle of angry swans then began to surround the couple. Apparently they are a territorial animal.
